I am seriously thinking of getting out of Windowsworld and the new 24" iMac looks great!:D
From the listed specs this will really rock.
Anybody have advice on whether I should wait for Leopard to come out or not?
Just do it. Leopard will be a coupla hundred bucks when it comes (Spring), no biggie.

I want an iPad that takes, at least reasonable quality photo's.
I would not expect DSLR quality, but if I am out and I have my iPad with me, and I wish to take a photo or a video, then at least I would like it to be of a quality that does the moment justice.
The silly thing about this argument is you are defending the indefensible.
There is no reason why a worse item is desirable over a better item all things being equal.
The only reasons are cost, size etc.
1mp camera's should have stopped being made years ago. There is no reason to deliberately make anything worse that you can, unless it's marketing and a planned strategy.
If you're out, you'd rather pull out your iPad then a phone or camera to take a picture? Really?

In addition to my promise to run around naked and post the video to the Internet if iMac gets Conroe, I will do the same if they introduce a phone at WWDC.
Not happening.
So, if Apple does both, will you then make 2 separate videos? Or will it be one with you and a friend? :D

Store still down? Annoying or what?Yes very annoying! I'm trying to figure out the specs/prices for these. Btw, does anybody think the Apple would allow me to swap the MBs at Admore rather than going back to Christiana Mall in Delaware?

I'd be happy if they supported over-the-air WiFi syncing. We can update the OS OTA but not sync my contacts and calendar items? Sheesh.

Wow, all of these vista versions, which one do I pick? I think I'm going to end up going with the Windows Really Good Edition (http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/winrg.php).
(Yes, I know it's been posted before, but I had to do it.)

I'm not sure if my macbook's shutdown apply to the ones being discussed, but I suppose that's my question. I received my macbook in early september, and within a week it started to freeze the screen intermittently, and after a few days became more and more frequent. BUT THEN it started giving me kernel panics often. Both issues built up until I was having to shut down my computer 7+ times in a day. These were all random occurrences with no links to running certain programs, etc. I sent it in to AppleCare and they replaced the HD (after I had already wiped it, reinstalled, and the problem started again). After a couple weeks of getting my serviced macbook back, the problem has started again from the start, starting slow and then happening 7+ times in a day. AppleCare has told me that there is nothing they can do until the problem becomes increasingly worse, to the point that they can reproduce the problem easily. This is very upsetting, since with the very consistent progression of these kernel panics (and freezes) will land right around my midterms....ANYONE have ANY suggestions here? I don't even know if this is in relation to the random shutdowns you're talking about... But I'm desperate here.

This is just a business being a business. Get over it.
You don't think Apple gives special placement certain bands and/or labels on the iTunes music store? You think it's just as easy to find "Joe Smith's Indie Band" as it is to stumble upon U2's latest single?
Walmart is probably threatening these companies with diminished advertising and product placement. I doubt they have any intention of removing DVDs from their stores.
In fact, I doubt this story is even true, but that's another matter.
The sad fact of the matter is, the studios have no choice but to comply. Record labels and movie studios already fold and release special "Walmart" versions of certain items just to get them in the front door, because in this day and age, something as simple as the absence from Walmart's shelves is enough to make a CD or DVD's failure all but inevitable.
But again, this isn't David vs. Goliath, as someone amusingly said. This is a $200 billion company vs. a $65 billion company.
I won't be looking for the Kleenex.

I Think C2D MacBook Tomorrow But Election May Delay A Day.
Nothing different except C2D at same speeds, 3GB option, 160GB and 200GB HD Offerings.

yes, apple will be shooting themselves in the foot if they don't have that issue resolved in the second generation model.
does anyone know how many hrs it is until we should "expect" the announcement assuming it is going to be released within the next day.

There are many possibilities for the graphics of the Macbook. The GMA950 is at about the end of the road. Maybe we'll see Intel's X3000. If not, one of Nvidia's or ATi's integrated solutions would be nice.

The current camera on the iPhone 4 is stellar IMO and many others... an equal 8MP camera would be even better....
Opinions are good things huh....
my iphone produces some ok photos but also produces a large volume of absolute shite ones.
The higher mp may not mean muhc, but hopefully they will be improving the optics/sensor while at it. The nokia n8 may be a fugly symbian^3 abomination, but the sensor combined with the carl zeiss optics produces some really nice photos, even in low light.
You can also use the hdmi out for flipping throuhg photos, and not just the fakin stupid slideshow like the hdmi adapter on the iphone4
Yeah, bring on Carl Zeiss. Those lenses work majic even on dedicated cams.

Best Buy in Cambridge, MA didn't have any stock. The Apple store in the same mall did (as usual) but was mostly sold out when I got there 1/2 hour after opening. Still had a few 64 GB models, but that's it.

FYI--I have my Itunes media folder on my time capsule, when I upgraded to iOS 4.3 and now 4.3.1 it changed the media folder to the default itunes folder on my hard drive in my MBP. It happened with each update and caused some syncing problems...
