Plug the external drive into your MacBook Pro, and open a finder window. The WD drive should show up in the left part of the finder window, under devices.
Right-click on the drive, and click on "Get Info".
In the Info window, part way down you'll see the format. For example:
Format: MS-DOS (FAT32)
or
Format: Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
or
something else for NTFS...
Remember, you can't reformat a drive (or a partition) without losing the files currently on that drive (partition). So, you MUST copy the files somewhere else, first.
I have checked and it is NTFS format. There is too much memory to copy onto my mac before reformatting. So then where else can i copy them too? For safety I can copy to another external hard drive which is NTFS, but will i then be able to move the data on to the newly formatted drive? Or just the stuff from my mac? That's probably it then. You have to install RAM in the G5 in matched pairs, meaning same speed and capacity.
I have tried that, I have used 2 matching 1 gig strips and 2 matching 512mb strips, still no luck all I get is the fans start up, everything seems to be powered inside the box, fans, vid card fans working, nothing on the keyboard or the mouse. The power switch LED flashes twice about every 5 seconds, the front fan with the speaker seems to want to speed up then carrys on normally about every 10 to 15 seconds.

I went to the website and checked as far down as iTunes 10.2 but they are all listed as being for Windows. Any for the Mac?

So even though I don't shoot weddings generally* one thing I've noticed anytime I do is that there is never a good amount of time given to the photographer. (Wedding photogs can attest to this!).
Anyway this last weekend I was at my sisters wedding. They rented a mansion in the middle of the Arizona desert and it was the first wedding that was actually enjoyable! No stress. There were a million incidents that would be traditionally considered "screwups" (the bride and groom seeing each other and hanging out before the ceremony, the bride getting crap all over her dress, the couple kissing before they even gave wedding vows. etc) the list goes on and on.
Anyway the bride didn't care about any of that, the groom didn't care about any of that, and it was the first wedding I've been to where the focus was on celebration not ceremony. It was fantastic....and...thankfully they took my advice and gave their wedding photographer three HOURS of photo shoot time before the ceremony! He and his assistants got so many great shots as I watched in envy only dreaming of what could be done with that amount of time. (The most time I was ever given was 25 minutes.)
The wedding was outside too so there were a ton of awesome opportunities, and even inside the lighting was really good. Needless to say I could only dream of shooting a wedding in such a place! (Although the thought of shooting weddings is generally a nightmare :P )
Anyway there is not much to this post but I thought Id share about the awesome conditions the photog got to shoot in. Anyone else ever get lucky with that much time during a wedding?
*The only time I shot weddings by myself is for friends who had no money for a photog and were going to rely on a family friend with a point and shoot. I hate the stress and pressure of shooting weddings but will usually go back up a friend if they do a wedding shoot. I have a lot of photog friends and have acted as a secondary for many of them if they need the help.

Would have been there, but.... Had to do the family thing and so far, the last OS is working fine for us. It's about a 2 hour drive for me to Penn, if it were Quail Springs, I might have made the trip.
I was in Penn last weekend just to pick up 2 things. Took about 30 minutes just to get someone to scan so I could pay. So many people in there just to play with stuff with no intentions on buying, and taking up employee's time, makes me mad.
I'm waiting to hear how good the new OS really is. Is it worth buying? I'm still running 2 G4's and don't know if the upgrade will really help me.

On the screen it had the usual style buttons, but it says "Auction" on one of them, maybe they are starting auctions on their site too.

It really, really depends on what your platform and application is. NO ONE can give you good advise without knowing those two things. You probably want a consultant to help you design this properly if you aren't an expert.

Bear in mind that markets operate on speculation as well - Jobs in good health, positive expected growth and speculation on future innovations and sales drives share prices.
Thus when one of these factors changes so does the expected projections (although this may not occur). If the stock market is wrong it will re-adjust again.
Personally, I'm glad many countries don't do after-hours trading. Remember, traders should have a life too! :)

If you donate directly to the organizations involved (Red Cross etc) I can't imagine they'll be taking a cut...can they??Nope, which is why a lot of people are now telling you to make a trip to the charity in question, and donate directly, instead of donating to somebody collecting money for a charity.

I am trying verify if data recovery is possible on a customers Macbook Air a1304 hard drive. Since Apple decided to use that 1.8" drive I am trying to find an adapter that will work in a desktop SATA or IDE that isn't some ridiculous price. The Air had water spilled on it so it will not turn on nor do I have another air to test it in.
From what I can find the Air uses a 1.8" ZIF drive. Would this ZIF CE 1.8 Microdrive to 3.5 40pin adapte (http://www.amazon.com/ZIF-1-8-Micro-Drive-Adapter/dp/B004AXDA82)r work. Perhaps this Toshiba 1.8 ZIF to 2.5 IDE (http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-1-8-Zif-2-5-Connector/dp/B0018S9RQG) (I have an external enclosure that works with the 2.5 IDE). I also found this external USB enclosure (http://www.amazon.com/Aluminum-Enclosure-1-8-inch-Toshiba-Connector/dp/B0037FR27E/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1302904126&sr=8-2). There is even this uber cheap adapter for 1.8 zif to 2.5 IDE (http://www.amazon.com/ZIF-1-8-Inch-Toshiba-Adapter/dp/B004AA5WRW/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1302904126&sr=8-7).

From the chart, I'd say that this statement applies to people who owned a Kindle and got the iPad as a 2nd device. Or people who got the iPad and got the cheaper 3rd gen Kindle became available, etc.
I don't think Android tablets are common enough at this time for such a significant number of people already owning more than one.

So I've been thinking
Xcode now requires Snow Leopard - when Lion comes out is it likely I'll need Lion to continue developing or should I be good with Snow Leopard? I only ask as my current development machine is a Core Duo (read - not good enough for Lion) and if I'm going to need to update I'll need to plan ahead.
Whilst I realise nobody 'knows' at the minute, does anyone know when XCode required Snow Leopard from? Was it from Snow Leopard's release, or simply when Xcode 4 came into existance?

Smartphones will never completly replace cameras. I know it's hard for some people to accept that not everyone owns a smartphone.
